CodeBuck ("CodeBuck", "we", "us") builds custom web, mobile, TV and backend software for clients across Kenya, South Sudan, Uganda and South Africa. This policy explains what information we collect through codebuck.africa (the "Site"), why we collect it, and how it's handled.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect information you choose to give us:

• Contact form: your name, email address, the service you're enquiring about, and your message.
• Chat assistant: the messages you send to our chat widget, CodeBuck's replies, and an anonymous session identifier stored in your browser so the conversation can continue if you return.

We do not require you to create an account to use the Site, and we do not collect payment information through the Site.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form and follow up on project scoping.
• To generate and improve responses from our chat assistant.
• To maintain the security and normal operation of the Site.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Sharing With Third Parties

We share information only where necessary to operate the Site:

• With our email delivery provider, to send and receive messages related to your enquiry.
• With a third-party AI service provider, to generate responses in our chat assistant. Messages you send to the chat assistant are processed by that provider in order to produce a reply.

We do not otherwise share, rent or sell your information to third parties.

4. Cookies

The Site uses a session cookie that is strictly necessary for basic functionality and security (for example, keeping forms working correctly). We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies.

5. Data Retention

We keep contact form submissions and chat conversations for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your enquiry and maintain our records, or until you ask us to delete them.

6. Your Rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time by emailing us using the details below.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information you share with us. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for businesses and individuals seeking software development services, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
